Singapore - Garden Festival 2018

A city with abundant lush greenery among the high-rise buildings, Singapore definitely lives up to its name of the "Garden City". And Garden by the Bay is absolutely one of the must-visit places when you travel in Singapore (and it's also my personal favourite place here).

Singapore Garden Festival takes place bi-annually and the latest one happens from 21st July to 3rd August (yes, it merely lasted for 2 weeks). If you miss it, it's fine, Garden by the Bay has so much more to offer, namely the Flower Dome (in which the theme will change every 2 to 3 months), the stunning Cloud Forest and OCBC skyway. Supertree Grove
Probably an iconic landmark in Singapore. What's more appealing is the admission is completely free! For people who are on tight budget and decide to give the conservatories a miss, these unique trees still make it a great place to drop by. Visit at night to see the trees being lit up and enjoy a mesmerising Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.

Spot the Marina Bay Sands!

Singapore Garden Festival
Be aware that you will have to purchase a separate entrance ticket for this event. And also get ready to beat the crowd by visiting on a weekday. The area to be covered was huge and you definitely need at least half a day to visit all the places. For lunch place, we would recommend the Marketplace (slightly overpriced but what did you expect?) or McDonald.

The sun had no mercy on us. At Landscape and Fantasy Garden.

The beautiful sunflower field was another highlight of the trip.

"Floral Windows to the World" gotta be my most favourite exhibition here. Partly because it is an indoor exhibition which allows me to escape from the hot weather. But more importantly, these pieces of artworks were so picturesque, delicate and creatively done.

Flower Dome
Depending on the theme, Flower Dome always welcomes you in a new appearance. E.g. Christmas Wonderland seems to become a yearly affair. Other themes include sakura garden during spring, tulips field etc. And what we're having here is Orchid Extravaganza Floral Display in combination with the vivid colourful Peranakan culture showcases. Of note, orchid is the national flower of Singapore and will usually come in display during National Day month (August).

Lovely Peranakan shophouse's backdrop for an OOTD shot.

It's a pair of traditional Peranakan slippers.

Cloud Forest
You will be awed by the beauty of this man-made waterfall once you step into the conservatory. After snapping some nice photos, you will take an elevator to the Lost World, the highest point of the mountain, then slowly make your way down while admiring the beautiful scenery.

Love this breathtaking misty view.

Looks like a heart shape, right? Taken at Tree Top Walk.

What a lovely place. I will definitely go back to Flower Dome when a new theme is set up in the future. Be prepared for more photos spam!
