This is going to be a short post to feature our recent experience with Cable Car Sky Dining. We bought two tickets for Singapore Flavours Cabin last year, when the pandemic was less controlled, at a discounted rate of $55/pax with a flexible redemption date. We waited for the rainy season to be over first before making our way there for a more enjoyable experience. 😅
The redemption process was simple and fuss-free. We made our reservation by writing to the customer service email (it should be at least 3 days before the date of interest). Based on my recent browse at their official website, it seems like you have to select a date while purchasing the tickets.
Boarding starts from 5.30pm onwards with the last boarding at 6.30pm. The duration of sky dining is approximately 60-min (2 rounds), which we thought it's sufficient to complete our meals and take good photos of the scenic views. If you are coming by MRT, you can actually take a complimentary cable car ride from Harbourfront station at level 15 of HarbourFront Tower 2 to Mount Faber Peak to start your Sky Dining experience. We didn't know about this (should have checked the website) and took a tough route on foot which took about 15 mins. Faints ~
Moving on to a short review about the food. We were not particularly impressed, probably because we were still full from the lunch (obviously overeating throughout our staycation trip). Some dishes were more outstanding, for example, wok-fried chilli crab meat with mini mantou (imagine crispy mantou soaked in sweet and spicy gravy) and Hainanese chicken rice (featuring fragrant rice, well-cooked chicken and tangy garlic chilli sauce). Other dishes just crossed the average bar. But I have to admit that the bright colours of the rainbow cake make the entire bento looking extra fun! 😉
It was fun identifying the familiar landmarks at bird's eye view, e.g. Keppel Bay, USS, various Sentosa Resorts, Royal Albatross (which is on my wishlist), and even Duxton located far in Tanjong Pagar. Apologies that we didn't take a lot of photos as we tried to cherish and truly enjoy the moment! Overall, it was a great experience and would recommend you to try at least once 😊
