Time to travel to the most lively town in New Zealand - Queenstown, the homeland of extreme sports enthusiasts (too bad, I am not one of them, LOL). Again, we made multiple stops along the journey, that's also what I like about road trips. Just stop wherever you want to explore, own time own target, no stress ~
Cromwell Town
The fruit sculpture is big enough to be seen from distances, there is no way that you will miss it when you drive past the town. Worth stopping a while and taking photos with the colourful landmark, which gives you a good idea on the main products of the town. Unfortunately, you only get to indulge in delicious fruits if you visit the place during the right season (summer).
As mentioned earlier, we didn't come in the right season, sigh, what we saw were apples and kiwis, instead of the famous stone fruits. But it is okay, we tasted the yummy homemade fresh fruit ice-cream. It comes in 3 flavours - blueberry, mixed berries and cherry. And there is a small garden beside the shop, with beautiful roses, another photogenic place indeed.
Fresh fruit availability:
Cherries: December - January
Apricots: December - February
Peaches:December - March
Nectarines: January - March
Plums: January - March
Apples: February - November
Pears: February - September
Kawarau Gorge Suspension Bridge
The home of Bungy Jumping, do you have guts to do it? I don't have, haha! It was already late evening when we reached there. Wanting to see people doing bungy jump but we missed the opportunity. Still a beautiful bridge though.
And finally we reached Queenstown before the sky turned dark. Featuring the magnificent view from our balcony. =)

It was an impromptu visit, I didn't plan for any lunch place as I was unable to predict where would we be when our stomachs asked for food. Luckily the food there didn't disappoint us. I apologize for the bad quality photos as they were taken using my phone (left our DSLR in the car). Highly recommend their fish n chips! The coffees weren't too impressive though.
Clyde Dam
First stop was the man-made fascination - Clyde Dam. Known as the third largest hydroelectric dam in New Zealand, it offers a scenic view from the lookout and also makes a perfect picnic spot. As usual, we couldn't stop admiring the milky blue water which seems to be shimmering under sunlight. The wind was blowing so strongly that we couldn't take a proper photo, oops.
When you asked an old lady to use a not-so user-friendly camera.
