My first impression was "why is this place so ulu?" For people who are not familiar with Tanglin area, it is hard not to get lost. We took bus from Orchard (either bus 111 or 132) and alighted at Tanglin Road. It was another 10-min walk from the bus stop. We missed the entrance of Phoenix Park and to my dismay, we only realized this after walking for another 10 mins under the hot sun. Detailed guide on how to get there is available at the cafe website.
Thankfully, we managed to stumble through our way to reach the cafe. I could recognize the swing from far. The cafe was decorated in black and white, simple yet stunning. The ambiance was good, would be suitable for small gatherings or hot dates.

We ordered Truffle Mushroom Pasta ($14) and Steaks Are High ($20). The pasta was delicious, especially the thick creamy sauce. We liked the steak as well, perfectly cooked in medium rare with slightly crispy crust outside and well seasoned with salt and pepper. However, as compared to the high quality food dishes, the drink was disappointing. We ordered Twilight ($7), which was initially blue, but as you poured in the yellow drink, a beautiful ombre colour was formed. Definitely looked beautiful in Instagram, however, the taste was diluted. I would think it was highly overpriced.
Before twilight.
Twilight.
I know, the cafe is famous for Milky Way Cake and Unicorn Cake. But my boss wanted to try Boufe Cake ($8.50) instead, as a good girlfriend, I would have to fulfill his wish. The chocolate was rich and dense, luckily the sweetness was balanced by the sourness of passion fruits, nice one!
Mini Unicorn Cake, kawaii!
Milky Way Cake, stunning glaze!
Boufe Cake.
It was a well-spent Saturday afternoon at Boufe Cafe. Highly recommend this place. =)
