Malacca 2 - Actually more than just Food

My previous post talks a lot about the food and this post mainly features the main attractions in Malacca. Malacca is known to be a historical site, featuring numerous fascinating architecture and a mix of local and foreign cultures. As a Malaysian, we studied a lot about Malacca kingdom during our History classes, as well as its past of being ruled by Portuguese, Dutch, Britain and subsequently Japan before its independence.

A lot of colourful, nicely decorated trishaws around.

Malacca River

Taking a stroll along the river in a breezy evening is the best thing you could do in Malacca to rest your mind. The scenery was breathtaking, especially with the setting sun as the background. If you prefer, you can even join the cruise but we decided to give it a pass. And the place looks equally fantastic during daytime and at night! Don't forget to snap photos with the colourful murals as well!

Christ Church

One of the most prominent landmarks in Malacca. It was built by Dutch when they conquered the place. Easily recognizable with the red architecture. Definitely a must-visit place to prove that you have come to Malacca before.

How we conveniently blocked the word "Melaka"... Sobbing...

St Paul Church

More like ruins of the church but it offers great view from the hilltop, absolutely breathtaking. The church was built by the Portuguese but it was badly damaged when Dutch took the possession of Malacca. Come here and witness the history yourself.

Our favourite photos taking spot!

There are many other tourist attractions in Malacca such as sky tower, upside down house etc. Due to time constraint, we didn't visit them. Haha, probably because we are getting old, we prefer a slower pace instead of "chionging" all the attractions.
