Sekinchan 2 - Everything about Paddy

Let's continue our Sekinchan trip~ And now we are moving on to the star today - the stunning paddy fields. June is the harvesting month of the paddy fields and we came near mid-June (11th June in fact). Most of the paddy field had been harvested and some were burned to fertile the soil. Fret not, there were still some beautiful one left and sufficient for good photos.

The paddy field reminded me of an old song I learnt in primary school - "走在乡间的小路上,暮归的黄牛是我同伴..." ~ How nostalgic! It reminded me of those old days when our grandparents stayed at rural areas and we would go back to our hometown during festive seasons for reunion. Love the feeling of 回乡. Haha, now my definition of 回乡 had become going home in Malaysia from Singapore, how life had changed everything ~

There isn't any particular location to view the paddy fields because they are simply everywhere. You can just pull over your car to the side of the road for photoshoot. If you try to use GPS or Waze, it would probably lead you to the paddy gallery (near Ah Ma's House), which I think it's not a bad choice too.

My favourite photo from Sekinchan! The natural lighting, the colour contrast and everything just look right in this photo. Thumbs up for my photogragher!

Paddy stalks to be burned, I guess.

Ah Ma House is a popular shop for snacks and souvenirs. To our amazement, we found Ah Gong House opposite to it, LOL! Are they competitors or what? Since they are so near to each other, just visit both.

The weather was unbearable so we chilled a while at Ah Ma House. It is traditional wooden house with a swing outside. The swing looks exactly the sames as the one we used to had at my grandparents' house back then.

All the childhood snacks to revive your memories~

More prawn crackers!

My favourite childhood snack - sour plum popsicle! This can be made at home easily, just pour the boiled sour plum soup into the plastic bags and tie up before freezing them for hours. Very refreshing on such a hot day!

鸡蛋糕 or egg cake, love the spongy texture.

Just a short post here to record my feelings about Sekinchan ~ See ya!
